Terms of Use

What this is

Chronothèque keeps the record of your watches: the photos you take, the documents you attach and the history of who owned what. Using the app means accepting these terms.

It is not a shop, not an escrow and not an authentication service.

What we never claim

We do not certify that a watch is genuine. We have never held it in our hands, and a verdict from us would be a guess dressed up as expertise — exactly what a forger would hide behind.

What the app shows is evidence and questions: what has been confirmed, by whom, and what does not add up. The conclusion is yours.

Your account

One account belongs to one person. You sign in with Apple or Google; keep the device locked, and tell us if you lose it.

A code for the web panels is single use and lives five minutes. Sharing it means sharing your access.

What you add

Your photos and documents stay yours. You allow us to store them and to show them exactly where the app shows them: to a dealer when you open a watch for appraisal, to the person you hand the watch to, and to our reviewer when a document is checked.

You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload. Fabricated papers are grounds to close the account.

Transfer of ownership

The app moves the record. It does not transfer legal title, does not hold money and is not a party to your deal.

When two people claim one watch, we decide who keeps the record. That decision is about the record only — ownership is decided by law, not by us.

Dealers and offers

Appraisals and buy offers come from independent dealers. The price is their opinion and the deal is between you and them.

We check who they are and we read what they write before it reaches you. We do not guarantee the deal or the price.

Paid features

Some things cost money: unlocking a 3D model, ordering one made, and subscriptions when they appear. Payment goes through your Apple ID, under Apple’s rules.

A subscription renews itself until you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends, in Apple ID settings; refunds are handled by Apple.

A production order carries a promised date. If we miss it, write to us and ask for the money back.

The chain

Hashes of history events go into a public blockchain, and that cannot be undone — which is the point: nobody, including us, can rewrite the past.

No personal data goes there. Not a photo, not a document, not a serial number — only a hash.

What is not allowed

Passing off someone else’s watch as yours, uploading fabricated documents, selling access to your account, mass-collecting data from the service, and testing our security without written permission.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any moment: Account → Delete account. What is erased and what stays is described on the privacy page.

We can close an account for the things listed above, and we will say which one.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. We are liable to the extent the law requires and no further; your statutory consumer rights are not affected by anything written here.
